A cowling chair for jet enthusiasts

Wiltshire-based Plane Industries make signature furniture from parts that once adorned commercial airliners.

As an example, here’s a chair made from the engine cowling of a BAe 146 jet aircraft.

Some 387 of the aircraft were made during its production lifespan, making it the most successful British civil jet airliner program ever.

Capable of being the centrepiece of most rooms, this dramatic object will spin smoothly on its highly polished aluminium base, while its glossy shell and dark interior contrast with a cowling that gleams like a mirror.
